Creator Monetization Terms
Draft v0.1. These documents are awaiting legal review. Details in square brackets will be completed before launch. The agreement text is currently available in English only.
Effective date: October 1, 2026 · Version: 0.1
These Creator Monetization Terms ("Monetization Terms") are between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("we", "us", "our"). They apply when you charge for your Content on Wondali and when you are paid for it. They are part of your Creator Agreement, and Section 6 of that agreement refers to them. Where these Monetization Terms and the Creator Agreement differ about creator earnings, these Monetization Terms control. Your acceptance of these Monetization Terms is the separate written agreement that Section 6.2 of the Creator Agreement mentions.
In short: you set the price in coins for your episodes. When a viewer spends coins on them, you earn 80% of that value. You can withdraw your earnings to your bank through Stripe once you have at least $20. Refunds and chargebacks of the viewer's payment reduce what you earn from it.
1. Who can earn
1.1 Eligibility. To charge for Content or be paid, you must (a) accept these Monetization Terms, (b) be at least 18 years old, (c) be an individual, not a company (business accounts are not supported yet), (d) live in the United States or the United Kingdom, and (e) complete identity and payout verification with Stripe, our payment partner.
1.2 Your Content. Only Content you have the right to publish and charge for can be priced. Section 3 of the Creator Agreement applies in full. We may refuse, remove or unprice Content that breaks our rules or the law.
1.3 No buying your own work. You cannot unlock or buy your own Content with coins.
2. Pricing
2.1 Setting prices. You choose a price in coins for each episode of a series, and may also offer one price to unlock all remaining episodes. The price of an episode is between 1 and 200 coins. The price for all remaining episodes is between 1 and 5,000 coins and cannot be lower than the price of one episode. We show prices to viewers in coins and may also show their value in U.S. dollars (10 coins = $1).
2.2 Single-episode works. For a work with one episode, the price of the episode and the price for "all episodes" are always the same. When you add episodes later, you can set them separately.
2.3 Changing prices. After you first set prices for a work, you can change them once every 30 days. If you have added episodes since your last change, you may change them once straight away. Changing a price does not affect what viewers have already unlocked.
2.4 Free and locked episodes. You decide which episodes are free. Free episodes earn nothing from coins. We may still show advertisements around free Content, and those do not earn you anything unless we agree otherwise in writing.
2.5 What viewers see. Before buying, viewers see the price in coins and a notice if the price has changed. We may limit or change how prices are shown.
3. Your earnings
3.1 Revenue share. When a viewer spends coins to unlock your episodes, you earn 80% of the value of the coins spent, and we keep 20%. The value of a coin for this purpose is $0.10. Amounts are calculated in whole coins; we round your share down, and any remainder is ours.
3.2 Net Revenue. The coin value that your share is calculated on ("Net Revenue") is the coins spent on your Content, minus any amounts later reversed under Section 6, and excluding sales tax, which we collect and pay where the law requires it. We pay the payment processing fees (including Stripe's) and do not deduct them from your share. If we ever sell coins through an app store or another channel that charges a commission, we will update these terms before that starts and the change will apply only to purchases made after it.
3.3 Bundles. When a viewer unlocks all remaining episodes at one price, you earn your share of the coins they actually spend on that bundle. A bundle never costs the viewer more than the single-episode prices of the episodes it covers.
3.4 When you see it. Each sale appears in your earnings page in the Studio, together with the date it becomes available.
3.5 No other income. Only coins spent on your Content earn you money under these terms. Views, likes, advertising and other activity do not, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
4. No holding period
New earnings are not held: an earning is available to withdraw as soon as the sale is recorded. Refunds and chargebacks of the viewer's payment can still happen after that, and they reduce what you earn from that sale (Section 6). If a refund or chargeback comes after you have already withdrawn the money, your balance can go below zero and later earnings first make up the difference. We do not ask you to pay back money you have already withdrawn. Earnings recorded before this change keep the hold date that was shown for them.
5. Getting paid
5.1 Payout account. You connect a payout account through Stripe's hosted onboarding. You give your identity, tax and bank details to Stripe, not to us. Stripe's connected account terms apply between you and Stripe. We may stop or pause payouts if Stripe tells us your account is restricted or your verification is incomplete.
5.2 Minimum and how a withdrawal works. You can withdraw when your available balance is at least $20 (200 coins). A withdrawal always takes your whole available balance. You can have one withdrawal in progress at a time. We send the money to your Stripe account and Stripe pays it into your bank account. How long it takes to reach the bank depends on Stripe and your bank, usually a few business days.
5.3 If a payout fails. If the bank returns a payout, or Stripe rejects it, the coins go back to your available balance, and you can withdraw again after you fix the problem, for example by correcting your bank details with Stripe. In rare cases we may need to handle a failed payout manually, and we will contact you.
5.4 Currency. Withdrawals are calculated in U.S. dollars. If your Stripe account pays out in another currency, for example pounds sterling for creators in the United Kingdom, Stripe converts the money at its own exchange rate and may charge conversion fees. The amount that reaches your bank can therefore differ from the dollar amount.
5.5 Pausing payouts. We may pause withdrawals for an account while we investigate fraud, artificial activity, a rights claim, a payment dispute or a legal request, or if the account is closed or restricted. We will tell you why and what you can do, unless the law prevents us.
6. Refunds and chargebacks
6.1 What gets reversed. If a viewer's payment is refunded or disputed with their bank, we take back the coins from that payment that they have not spent. For coins they had already spent on your Content, your earnings from that spending are reduced in proportion. We reverse the newest purchases first.
6.2 Negative balance. If the reversal is more than your unwithdrawn earnings, your balance can go below zero. Your future earnings first pay the negative amount off. You cannot withdraw while the balance is below the minimum.
6.3 Chargeback fees. We pay the fees that card networks and Stripe charge for chargebacks and do not take them from you.
6.4 Money already paid out. We do not ask you to pay back money already withdrawn because a viewer got a refund or disputed a payment. The exception is a reversal caused by your fraud, artificial activity (Section 6.4 of the Creator Agreement), rights violations or other breach of your agreements with us. In that case we may recover the amount from your future earnings and, where the law allows, from you.
6.5 Disputes you win. If a payment dispute is decided in our favor, we do not automatically restore earnings that were reversed. Tell us at support@wondali.com and we will review it.
7. Taxes
7.1 Your responsibility. You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn, including income tax and self-employment tax. We do not give tax advice.
7.2 Tax information. Stripe collects the tax information the law requires from you when you connect your payout account, for example a taxpayer identification number for U.S. creators and a declaration of foreign status for creators outside the United States. We may receive that information, or a summary of it, from Stripe. You must keep it accurate and up to date.
7.3 What we report. We report payments to creators to tax authorities where the law requires, for example on IRS Form 1099 for U.S. creators above the legal threshold. We may send you a copy or make it available to you. We may withhold taxes from payments if the law requires.
7.4 Sales tax on coins. Taxes that viewers pay when they buy coins are collected and paid by us. They are not part of your earnings.
8. Ending your participation
8.1 You can stop. You can stop charging for your Content by removing its prices (subject to the limit on changing prices in Section 2.3), or close your payout account, at any time. Content that viewers have already unlocked stays unlocked as long as it is available (Section 4 of the Coin Terms).
8.2 Remaining balance. If your account is closed, or you stop earning, you can still withdraw your available balance, once any hold period and any review under Section 5.5 have finished, and if it reaches the minimum. We may withhold amounts we reasonably need to cover reversals under Section 6.
8.3 Our actions. If your Content or conduct breaks the Creator Agreement or the law, we may suspend earnings, withhold payouts that relate to the violation, reverse earnings from artificial activity, or close your account, as described in the Creator Agreement and our Enforcement & Appeals Policy.
9. Changes and contact
We may change these Monetization Terms. For material changes we will give you at least 30 days' notice and ask you to accept the new version before you set new prices or request a new withdrawal. Changes apply only to sales after they take effect, unless the law requires otherwise.
